lobith >> the third album «sunday land» (2006)

Pop songs with a pinch of jazz

The band LOBITH (from: Zürich, Switzerland) has been formed in 1998 by Gabriela Krapf in Amsterdam, where she’d studied Jazz, at the Conservatorium. Since than the group has been playing in many venues such as: Montreux Jazz Festival, Moods Zürich, Winston Kingdom Amsterdam, Kunstfabrik Schlot Berlin or at the AVO-Session Basel as an opener for Patricia Kaas and many more.

The new and third album by the singer and songwriter and her band shines with courageous song recipes – melting tenderly and bearing a slinky profoundness. In a pact with sound magician Peter Scherer (Laurie Anderson, Bill Frisell, Caetano Veloso), Lobith concocted their acoustic Sunday land between Stockholm, Zürich and New York. The group globalizes at a high level. Kudos – it's all so cosmo-romantic.

Lobith fill your evening sky with melancholic happiness, gather up ripe fruit and even make playground slides come true. «sunday land» is an incitement for pirouettes lost in thought. Put a garland in your hair and encircle yourself with things you have only dreamt about until now. And if you can't count to three at some stage, throw a snowball at the sun and let yourself be blinded. There's so much sky around..
